To provide attendees with an understanding of the current direction of movement in dental education.

Objectives (max 4 lines)
Discuss the status of Health Education England’s (HEE) ‘Advancing Dental Care (ADC) Education and Training Review’ and the impact this will have on the future dental workforce’s infrastructure for education and training. Provide an insight into ‘workforce planning’, which occurs at the highest political level to sustain the dental workforce. Provide an understanding of how a dental workforce will be developed, by education and training, to enable the provision of quality, prevention-orientated care within a patient-centred healthcare system. Explain the role of the FGDP (UK) and the development of the new ‘College of General Dentistry’.
